DRATINI continually molts and sloughs off its old skin. It does so because the life energy within its body steadily builds to reach uncontrollable levels. FireRed: Even the young can exceed 6.5 feet in length. It grows larger by repeatedly shedding skin. LeafGreen, Dratini’s evolution, Dragonair, is the only other pure Dragon-type in Gen 1. This makes them the only Dragon-type evolutionary line in the entire Kanto region. The fact that Dratini’s final evolution, Dragonite, is not pure dragon is noteworthy because a fully evolved pure Dragon-type would not be introduced Pokémon until Gen 5’s Haxorus line. That’s a total of 4 straight Gens to not have a single pure dragon.
Basically you will need 558 (186×3) to evolve three of the four 3K Dragonites. Of course the triplets will only be slightly bigger then your quad but the 200 dratini candies you save will yield way bigger dragonites and you will have more stardust to power them up as well.
